For years in my late teens and early 20s, I was not in a good place. I was always tired and my moods were unpredictable and erratic. I felt lost and aimless. I was diagnosed with endometriosis, and told that my only choice was to go on the hormone-heavy contraceptive pill and that even then I would probably have trouble conceiving in the future. I knew there had to be a better way to live, so off I went to find it. I am now pregnant with my first beautiful baby which is due in January and I am loving each minute of my journey (except the morning sickness).
What I soon realized was that I wasn’t taking time for the most important person in my life…MYSELF.
In the midst of all of the stress and worry about my health, I was, ironically, neglecting myself. I didn’t have time to relax. I thought little about what I actually needed and how I could love myself better, in a way that was not only soothing but healing. Like so many women of all ages, I was burning the candle at both ends, working long hours, not eating well and always busy, busy, busy.
So I took matters into my own hands and began to take back my health.
I learned that I was sensitive to both gluten and dairy, I cut out all forms of refined and added sugar from my diet and I replaced all the harmful chemicals in my home with non toxic products and essential oils. I began to look at what I wanted out of life and being more realistic about how I would get there. I began to put myself first, and the transformation began. As I began to achieve a whole new level of health through clean eating, I knew that I wanted to help other women do the same and be part of their efforts to change their lives positively and proactively. As a natural result of that commitment, I enrolled in the Health Coaching Certification Program at IIN (Institute of Integrative Nutrition), I am also a qualified CTC master therapist, Reiki practitioner, raw food chef and I am now studying to become a qualified Naturopath and Nutritionist.
Helping women put themselves first.
It took time, but I did finally learn how important it is – especially for women who tend to take care of everyone else – to start putting our own selves first. Not only is it not selfish for us to do this, it is actually potentially very damaging to those we love and care for when we put ourselves last. Today, I devote myself to helping women learn how to truly look after themselves and their families in ways that are deeply healing, positive and sustainable over time.
Who am I?
I’m the one everyone comes to asking for advice about healthy living and eating…and I love this role! I live south of Sydney, Australia, with my husband Chris and our two Staffordshire Terriers, Tahlee and Richter. I love snowboarding, experimenting in the kitchen, running on tracks in the bush (with the dogs, of course!) and being outdoors as much as possible.
Simple. Real. Balanced.
I know from my own experience and from my clients’ incredible transformations that healing is a chain reaction, and everything is connected. When it comes to an approach to health that works over the long-term, I believe that simple is best. I know that living a balanced life is possible with daily steps and consistent lifestyle changes.
What more can I say?
I am approachable, dedicated, positive and passionate about everything I do. I work one-on-one and in groups with busy women and mums, to bring the focus back to balance and total health. I look forward to sharing my experience and passion with you so that, together, we can create true positive change in your life.
