Anxiety is something that I have struggled with in the past, and it is something I mainly left behind after my shift towards a healthier lifestyle. However it’s still something that without the proper self-care can rear it’s head from time to time. I want you to know that any anxiety I experience nowadays I manage with natural therapies such as meditation, self-care practices and essential oils. I have detailed my favourite four essential oils below that I find help calm an anxious mind.
Lavender is one of the most used oils as it is very versatile and have a lovely scent. It has calming and relaxing properties that promote peaceful sleep and help ease feelings of tension.
Used extensively in perfumes and aromatherapy, Ylang Ylang is a great oils to use topically as a perfume. It provides a calming effect while lessening tension and stress and promotes a positive outlook.
Another oil used in perfumes due to its aroma, Vetiver provides a calming, grounding effect on emotions. It is also beneficial on the bottoms of feet before bedtime to promote a restful night’s sleep.
When used in a diffuser, Frankincense promotes feelings of peace, relaxation, satisfaction and overall wellness. This oil has some great properties for healthy cellular function and rejuvenating skin appearance as well.
How to Use
- Pop a few drops in your diffuser daily
- Apply topically (diluted with fractionated coconut oil) to your hands, feet, wrists and back of the neck
- Use a few drops in a relaxing bath
